So galaxy peeps, I have to tell you about a wonderful tool that I LOVE using when meeting with my guided reading groups. Whisper phones, they are my secret weapon!

Before students began reading,  I give them one of these bad boys and I tell them to “whisper read”. Students are super excited about the colors and it allows me to effectively monitor reading behaviors, processing strategies and take notes.

Another great thing is that the phones allow students to read and not be distracted while their friends are reading! So guess what?! It’s a win for everyone! Try them in your classroom today and tell me how you like them! I’m sure you and your students will love using them in guided reading.
