Teaching young children how to master their alphabet sound can be both rewarding and at times full of frustration ! We’ve been working with letter sounds in the classroom for my intervention groups for the past nine weeks in school. I
have three students that need intensive interventions with letter sounds. I have created a steadfast intervention program to get those students learning those letter sounds in no time. Letter sounds take a while for children to began to recognize coupled with the fact that they also have to remember the associated letter sound.
Think about this, there are 26 letters of the alphabet. Children have to learn their sounds. In order for things to become a memory children have to see (Visual) Say (practice) and write it. Remember teachers please be patient and allow students multiple activities to practice their letter sounds. Be on the lookout for an email about the alphabet intervention program!
